Liverpool launch £22m bid to replace Raheem Sterling with Real Madrid star Denis Cheryshev

He has spent the last two years on loan at La Liga side Villarreal and has clearly done enough to convince Rodgers he is the man to replace Sterling. Sterling was withdrawn from Liverpool's tour of the Far East and Australia at the 11th hour to discuss terms with Manchester City. If Liverpool are successful in their attempts to sign Cheryshev it could see Jordon Ibe farmed out on loan next season. Villarreal are keen to take Cheryshev on loan for another 12 months and the decision as to where his future lies could rest with the player.
