In an interview with Rolling Stone, Trump revealed that he was watching the awards when West gave his captivating acceptance speech and shared his plans to get on the ballot.

Throughout West's 12-minute speech, he bounced around from subject to subject and left everyone to pick up their jaw as he announced his presidential run, dropped the mic and nonchalantly walked off stage.

West just so happened to make the big reveal around the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Back in 2005, West, once again, took the masses by surprise when he shared a bold opinion on former President George Bush and his response to New Orleans' African-American residents during the natural disaster.
While Trump admitted that he doesn't "quite get it," he didn't seem to mind the idea of running against West in an election, echoing a point from Yeezy's speech.

"He's said very nice things about me in the past... extremely positive things," Trump said. "He's actually a different kind of person than people think. He's a nice guy. I hope to run against him some day."

West has already rallied up a few supporters from the music world. Both Rihanna and Leona Lewis have spoken out on his speech with the latter saying she was "quite moved."

It is uncertain whether or not West really intends to run after all, he's never been a predictable person.
